All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Hillcrest Memorial Park--Bakersfield CA Gussie Mae McCraw "Pete" 7/31/1916 9/5/2002 Graveside services will be held Monday, Sept. 9, 11:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary for Gussie Pete McCraw, who passed away September 5, at home. Long-time Bakersfield res-ident, Pete was born in Broken Bow, OK, of Indian heritage. Aunt Pete, as she was known to friends and family, was a gentle and loving spirit. Petey and her family came to California from Oklahoma in 1935. She married John McCraw from North Carolina. They loved their traveling and fishing trips. Although she slowed down in later years, she was always up to visiting with friends and family. Petey loved her family and they loved her feisty, tell it like it is personality. Petey is preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Edna McCants; husband, John McCraw; brother, Bill McCants; son, Marrs Butch Crow. She is survived by sons, Lloyd H. Crow (Pamela), Ronnie McCraw (Donna), of Bakersfield; sisters, Cora Dude Brookshear (Cecil), Pico Rivera, CA, Fern Bess (David), Stockton, CA; brothers, Hershal McCants (Irma), Marina del Ray, CA, Delbert McCants, Bakersfield; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
