McLeod Newspaper: McCurtain Daily Gazette, Idabel, Oklahoma Page Two Dated: Tuesday, December 9, 2003 McLeod rites set Wednesday Aubrey M. McLeod, 98, Idabel, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2003 at Idabel. He was born September 10, 1905 in Macon, Georgia, the son of Jordan and Virginia (Williamson) McLeod. He married Nana Dee Sides, March 28, 1931 at Idabel. He lived his adult life in the McCurtain County area. Aubrey worked as a farmer most of his life. After retireing as a farmer he worked for the Soil Conserveration Corps, and later ran a school bus route for the Idabel School District. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Curtis McLeod, a grandaughter, Sheila Soto; his brother J.B. McLeod, and two sisters, Maye Irons and Belle Shawhart. Aubrey is survived by his wife, Nana Dee McLeod of Idabel; one son, Carmon "Mac" McLeod of Ft. Worth, Texas, two grandchildren, Rita Gaitan of Saginaw, Texas and James McLeod of Ft. Worth, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Jones of Mesquite, Texas, and Bernice Hamilton of Rockwall, Texas, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, in the Norwood- Coffey-Leonard chapel in Idabel with Bro. Miles Wesner and Bro. Bobby Self officiating. Interment will follow in the Denison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
