ODIE MITCHELL Funeral services for Pvt. Odie Mitchell, Oak Hill, who was killed in action in Germany, October 13, 1944, at the age of 26, was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Holly Creek cemetery. A military service was under direction of the Broken Bow American Legion, and burial under direction of Coffey funeral home. Mitchell was born at Golden, June 10, 1918, and resided in that community all his life until he entered service February 9, 1944. He was stationed at camp Fannin, Tex., and Fort Meade, Md., before sailing for overseas service one month before his death. He was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include his father, Ben Mitchell, Sweet Home, Ore.; one daughter, Patricia Mitchell, Stigler; one brother, Houston Mitchell, Kirby, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. Whit Caples, Shreveport, La.; one half-sister, Mrs. Henry Temple, Golden, and grandmothers, Mrs. Ann Mitchell, McAlester, and Mrs. Laura Alton, Boswell. The body was accompanied to Idabel from Memphis by Cpl. Lowe D.
