OBITUARY: Myrtie Monk 

October 9, 1984 McCurtain Gazette, Idabel, Oklahoma   

MONK SERVICES SET WEDNESDAY   

Funeral services for Myrtie Monk, 89, Valliant, are scheduled for 2 
p.m. Wednesday in the Valliant Church of God, with the Rev. Orville 
Manning officiating.   

She died Sunday in McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel.   

Born May 10, 1895 in Avery, Tex., she had been a resident of 
McCurtain County since 1907, moving from Avery.  She was a member of 
the Mt. Zion Assembly of God Church.   

Survivors include one son, George Monk of Garvin; three daughters, 
Birdie Kilmer of Alva, Beatrice Baker of Garvin and Annie Mooney of 
Valliant; one sister, Birtie Fullen of Dallas, Texas; seven 
grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great 
grandchildren.   

Arrangements and burial in Valliant Cemetery are under the direction 
of Norwood Funeral Home of Idabel.
