Obituary: Mooney Rites Set Thursday

Mattie Mooney, 80, Garvin, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at her 
home. She was born July 17, 1921, at Garvin, the daughter of Edward 
Nease and Willie Franklin Bastible.

She was a homemaker, a member of Millerton Assembly of God, and had 
lived in this area for several years. She loved yard work, and making 
a garden, and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Mooney; her 
parents, E.N. & Willie Bastible; one brother and sister-in-law, Ed 
and Willie Bastible; a nephew and his wife, Travis and Betty 
Bastible; and one grandson, Michael Strickland.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son and daugahter-in-law, Bill 
and Carolyn Mooney, Garvin, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jessie 
F. and Loa Bastible, Norman; R.D. and Vanette Bastible, Clarksville, 
Texas, and Willie R. 'Dub' and Rosemary Bastible, Garvin; five 
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, 
nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug.  9, at the Assembly of God, 
Millerton, Bro. Amil Austin and bro. Ricky Patterson will officiate. 
Burial will follow in Wheelock Cemetery, Millerton. Under the 
direction of Brumley-McCurtain Funeral Home, Idabel.
