All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Wheelock Cemetery--Millerton OK Obituary: Troy Mooney Newspaper: McCurtain Gazette, Idabel, Oklahoma Dated: Wednesday, March 26, 1975 MOONEY SERVICE IS FRIDAY Funeral services for Troy Mooney, 66, Garvin route 1, are set for 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Wheelock Rock Church, with the Rev. Elwayne Schaffer officating. Mooney died at approximately 7 a.m. Tuesday at his home from what has been adjudged as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Born April 14, 1908, in Polk County, Ark., he has lived in McCurtain Counmty most of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Assembly of God church. Surviving are his wife, Dessie, of the home; two sons, Jim and Wayne Mooney of Idabel; two daughters, Della Davis of Glide, Ore., and Linda Carol Shelton of Broken Bow; three brothers, Harrison of Idabel, Austin of Garvin and Tilford of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mrs. Willie Bastible of Garvin; 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
