All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Holly Creek Cemetery--Holly Creek OK McCurtain County Local Newspaper: March 24, 1932 ANOTHER AGED IDABEL CITIZEN PASSES AWAY WELL KNOWN WOMAN IS BURIED AT HOLLY CREEK CEMETERY TUESDAY P.M. Mrs. Mandie Morgan, aged 80 years, a pioneer citizen of McCurtain county, and wife of J.M. Morgan, of North Idabel, died Saturday afternoon at 6:15 o'clock. Mrs. Morgan was a member of the Baptist church there and she and husband have many warm personal friends throughout the county. They were married at the age of 15 and 18, making a devoted companionship of 65 years, in July of this year. To this union were born five daughters and one son, and there are now 22 grandchildren living to mourn the loss of the devoted grandmother. The children, all of whom were present at the funeral, are: Zack Morgan, Mission, Texas; Mrs. Lena Wallace, Mission, Texas; Mrs. Otis Coppedge, Middleport, N.Y.; Mrs. T.D. Fish, Minturn, Colo.; Mrs. A.A. Chapman, Holly Creek, and Mrs. Tennie Montgomery, Idabel. Interment was held at 4:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, under supervision of the Idabel Funeral Home, at Holly Creek church. The services were conducted by Rev. R.C. Holcomb, pastor of the First Baptist church of Idabel, and Rev. W.B. Barber of the Salvation Army.
