Noblin, age 52, of Glover, Okla. Man killed in truck accident. FRONT PAGE OF TEXARKANA GAZETT THURSDAY 11/09/1967 Idabel, Okla. One man was killed and another slightly injured about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday When their pickup truck overturned on a county road six miles west of Golden, Okla. Dead on arrival at an Idabel hospital, was Carl J. Noblin, 52, of Glover, Okla. Injured was Roy Edward VanSlyke, 33, of Golden. State Trooper Hubert Hibben said VanSlyke was being held in the county jail Pending further investigation of the accident. Trooper Hibben said the truck driven by VanSlyke, was going north when it Apparently went out of control and overturned in the roadway. Noblin was born July 7, 1915, in Spencerville, Okla., and was a World War II Veteran. Survivors include two brothers, W. L. of DeQueen, Ark., and Earl of Tollison, Ariz. A sister, Mrs. Katie Newall of Tollison, two half sisters, Mrs. Lou Smith of Texarkana, And Mrs. Jesse Cross of DeQueen.
