::Redland Cemetery--Idabel OK

McCurtain County Local Newspaper: February 27, 1930

AGED MAN DIED SUNDAY MORNING AT HOLLY CREEK.

W.R. Overstreet, aged 82 years, died suddenly Sunday morning about 
7:00 at the home of his son, Tom Overstreet, who lives on the Tom 
Graham farm in the Holly Creek settlement.  Mr. Overstreet had just 
finished eating breakfast and was sitting in a rocking chair combing 
his hair when death occurred.  Funeral services were held Monday 
afternoon at the Redland cemetery, about 10 miles east of Idabel, and 
were conducted by Rev. Cooke, Baptist minister.

The deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J.C. Gafford, of 
Redland, and three sons, Tom Overstreet; Geo. Overstreet, Commerce, 
Texas, and W.I. Overstreet, Idabel.

Mr. Overstreet made his home with his children and had only been at 
his son's home a few days when he died.
