All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Memorial Park Cemetery--Amarillo TX Amarillo Globe News 26 Aug 1998 Pauline Phipps Pauline Phipps, 74, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in San Jacinto Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Coffey of the church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Phipps was born in McCurtain County, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo for most of her life. She was a homemaker and an active member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. For 22 years, she was the church wedding coordinator and the bride's room is named for her. Mrs. Phipps previously served as church hostess at San Jacinto United Methodist Church and Polk Street United Methodist Church as well as San Jacinto Baptist Church. She was a member of Texaco Wives Club and helped with City Church Mission. She married Herman Phipps in 1941 at Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1995. She also was preceded in death by a son, Frankie Roy Phipps. Survivors include a daughter, Mary A. Forrester of Cleburne; a son, H. Samuel Phipps of Dubuque, Iowa; three stepdaughters, Nadine Chance, Julie Hart and Barbara Chance, all of Amarillo; a stepson, Dickie Ray Phipps of Amarillo; two sisters, Rachel Wedding and Nadine LeClert, both of Phoenix; a brother, R.C. Miller of Amarillo; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. The family will be at 1800 Chama. They suggest memorials be to San Jacinto Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3309, Amarillo, TX 79116-3309; or Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O.
