All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED McCurtain County Local Newspaper: Dec. 29, 1927 PROPPS FUNERAL HELD HERE FRIDAY _____________ Mrs. John Propps, age 67 years, died Friday morning at 5:15 o'clock after an illness of several days with appendicitis, at the family home in this city. The funeral service was conducted at the residence Friday at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. J.D. Cunningham, pastor of the First Methodist church, of which the deceased was a member. The body was taken to Center Point, Arkansas, immediately after the funeral service, where burial was made at 3 p.m. Rev. Chas. Hughes, of Nashville, Ark., had charge of the service at the grave. The body was buried beside her husband, who passed away in Broken Bow, March 24, 1924. Mr. and Mrs. Propps came to this city more than 15 years ago from Center Point. Mrs. Propps was before her marriage Miss Mollie J. Whitmore, and a daughter of the late Dr. J.J. Whitmore, of Center Point. She was born and reared in that town and lived there until they came here. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. R.H. Wakley, Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs. Jim Bunch, Centrahoma; Mrs. Obb. Clements, Broken Bow; three sons, Dean Propps, Dallas, Texas; Clair Propps, Atoka, and Bryan Propps, Wichita, Kansas; three sisters, Mrs. Gus Hughes, Texas; Mrs. John Wallace, De Queen, Ark.; Mrs. E.V. Dildy, Nashville, Ark.; four brothers, Ras Whitmore, Texas; J.J. Whitmore, De Queen, Ark.; Harry Whitmore, Nashville, Ark., and Claud Whitmore, Nashville, Ark. All the children were present at the funeral.
