All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Shafter Cemetery--Shafter CA Lorene Pugh December 14, 1931 July 23, 2003 Mom went home to be with the Lord July 23, after a long and valiant fight with cancer. Mom was born near Broken Bow, Oklahoma, on December 14, 1931, to Homer and Nora Parker. She and her family moved to Avenal, California, when she was ten years old. She went to local schools where she met her future husband, Thirmon Pugh. They were married December 2, 1949. They had one son, Roger, who was born October 19, 1950. They moved to Bakersfield in 1954 and settled in Rosedale. Mom juggled her homemaking duties with work at Rosedale School and various other jobs. Mom was a fun loving person and had a great sense of humor. She was willing to help whenever someone needed help, even if it was just a smile and a hug. Mom had great wisdom and always gave good advice when she was asked. She will be greatly missed by her family and all of the friends she made over the years. Mom is survived by her husband, Thirmon, whom she was married to for 53 years and 7 months; her son, Roger Pugh and his wife, Lisa. Also Moms grandchildren, Matthew Pugh, Grace Montgomery and her husband, Derik Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Lydia Pugh, Kaylee Pugh, Dominic Montgomery and Destiny Montgomery. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Parker of Lake Isabella, CA; her sister, Geneva Durham of Bakersfield, CA and her brother, Charles Parker and his wife, Betty of Oroville, CA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank everyone who sent cards and letters during Moms illness. The cards and letters gave Mom great comfort during her illness. The family would also like to thank all of the members of the Rosedale Church of Christ who came to visit, called, sent cards, or brought food. It was greatly appreciated. The family would also like to thank the members of Local Union 155 Retirees Club for their calls, cards and letters. There will be graveside services, Monday, July 28, 11:00 a.m., at Shafter Cemetery. The service will be performed by Pastor Randy Hilburn of the Rosedale Church of Christ.
