Romine Dated: Saturday, January 13, 1940 Newspaper:McCurtain Gazette, Idabel, Oklahoma James P. Romine SMITHVILLE.Jan.13. -- James P. Romine, aged 72 years, died early Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. L. Brown near here following an illness of several months. Funeral rites were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill cemetery at 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill cemetery near Cove, Ark., with Rev. Smalling of Smithville officiating. Interment was under direction of the Coffey Funeral Home of Idabel. Survivors are six sons, Martis Romine, Smithville; Nick Romine, Almagordo, N.M.; Albert Romine, Forrestburg, Tex.; Arthur, Fred and Freemond Romine, all of Kansas City, Mo.; six daughters, Mrs. J. L. Brown and Mrs. John King, Smithville; Mrs. Ben Bodiford, Battiest; Mrs. John Bodiford, Quenado, Tex.; Mrs. Elbert Wright, Benton, Ill.; Mrs. Clyde Whisenhunt, Tokuba, Okla.; one bother, William Romine of Forrestburg, Tex., also survives.
