All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Subject: McCurtain County Obituary MARIE AMOS SAMUEL Marie Amos Samuel, age 80, of Smithville, Oklahoma was born on March 6,1914 at Beachton, Oklahoma to Kelson and Artimisse Jones Amos. She passed away on September 30, 1994 at Saint Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She has been a lifetime resident of the Smithville area. She was a graduate of Dwight Mission, Marble City, Oklahoma. She was married to Gardner Samuel on September 17, 1935 at Idabel, Oklahoma. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Big Lick Presbyterian Church in Smithville. She also held other offices in the church and had been active in the "Women's Society". She had been a homemaker. She had an active part in raising other family members besides her own children. She was preceded in death by a son, Pat Joe, a grandson, Marlon Ludlow and a sister, Sarah Hudson. Her survivors include her husband, Gardner Samuel, of the home; one daughter, Gladys Ludlow of Honobia, Oklahoma; one brother, John Amos of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren, four granddaughters-in-law, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many friends and loved ones.
