All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Wheelock Cemetery--Millerton OK Albert "Sam" Samuels Albert "Sam" Samuels, 83, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bates-Rolf Funeral Home Chapel in DeKalb with Roddy Jackson, pastor of Pinkham Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, officiating. Burial will be in Wheelock Cemetery in Millerton, Okla. Mr. Samuels was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Smithville, Okla. He married Gladys Adams in 1938. Later, He married Mossawese Evie Tyler on June 11, 1941. He was employed at the sawmill in Millerton in the 1940s. He was an assistant engineer at Wheelock Academy in Millerton. In 1952, his family moved to Dumas where he worked at American Zinc Plant for almost 20 years before its closing. Thereafter, he was employed by Dumas Independent School District in its maintenance department. He was preceded in death by a son, Wes Magel Samuels, in 1995. Survivors include four daughters, Janis Rose Basaldua, Donell Christine Ramos and Marsha Ruth Stagner, all of Amarillo, and Leila Ann Samuels of Hugo, Okla.; two sons, Eugene Ward Samuels of Grant, Okla., and Aaron Harris Samuels of Dumas; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. The family will be at 111 Quail Blvd. in Amarillo.
