All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Valliant Cemetery--Valliant OK McCurtain County Local Newspaper: Dec. 29, 1927 PROMINENT LADY DIED MONDAY A.M. ____________ Mrs. Hugo Schild of Broken Bow, died in the Paris Sanitarium at nine o'clock Monday morning, December 26, following an illness of diabetes. Mr. and Mrs. Schild left Broken Bow Sunday, December 18, and went to Liberty, Texas, to spend the holidays with Mrs. Schild's father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Prince, of that city. While there she was taken ill and carried to the sanitarium at Paris. She suffered until Monday morning when the end came peacefully at nine o'clock. Mrs. Schild has lived in Broken Bow for the past twelve years. She was a member of the First Methodist church of this city and was active in all phases of church work. She was a friend to all who came in contact with her, and her life was one of service to all those who knew her. Mrs. Schild has a great host of friends who will miss her kindnesses that she so frequently rendered. Although she is gone, her memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her. The body was carried to the home of Dr. C.R. Huckaby at Valliant, where the funeral service was held at ten o'clock Tuesday morning. A quartet composed of C.B. Sitchler, E.E. Stinebaugh, Ernest Jones and Bill Palmer of Broken Bow, furnished the music for the service which was conducted by Rev. J.D. Cunningham, pastor of the First Methodist church of Broken Bow, assisted by Rev. N.L. Peak, pastor of the First Methodist church of Valliant, and J.C. Boatright, pastor of the First Baptist church at Valliant. She was buried in the Valliant cemetery by the side of her mother, who died in 1912 and was buried there. A large number of Broken Bow people attended the funeral. Mrs. Schild is survived by her husband, Hugo Schild, of Broken Bow, and her father, and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Prince.
