SEWALL PASSES ON Death called at the home of Mrs. Annie Baum Monday afternoon and took away her 72-year-old father, Mr. J.L. Sewall. He had been in poor health for several years, but a month ago serious illness forced him to lose hope of ever logging again and he went to bed at the home of his daughter and never got up again. Often in life we are reminded of the way of someone's past life by the things they keep around them and so it was with this old man who carefully placed his logging tools at his bedside when he retired for the last time nearly a month ago. A simple ceremony marked the end of this 72-year-old man who spent a great part of his life in McCurtain county. The Skaggs Funeral Home had charge of the funeral arrangements with the Rev. Batton officiating. Interment was made in the Old cemetery (Broken Bow). He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Annie Baum and two grandchildren, Thomas and Sue Dodd, both of Broken Bow. The News joins the friends of the family in extending our sympathy during these hours of sadness. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to McCurtain Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/mccurtain/mccurtai.htm
