John H. Stewart

The memorial service for John H. Stewart will be at 4 p.m. Saturday 
at Hillcrest Chapel in Medford.

Mr. Stewart, 72, of Medford, died Tuesday (April 23, 2002) at his 
home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Medical Center 
Foundation, Hospice, 2600 Siskiyou Blvd., Suite 100, Medford, OR 
97504, or the American Heart Association, 10 Crater Lake Ave., Suite 
10, Medford, OR 97504.

He was born June 20, 1929, in Clebit, Okla., to John D. and Dora Lee 
Stewart. He graduated from Klamath Falls High School. On Nov. 13, 
1948, in Klamath Falls, he married Carol Joy Byrd, who survives.

Mr. Stewart served in the U.S. Navy for four years, the Naval Reserve 
for two years, and the U.S. Air Force for 14 years. He retired from 
the Air Force in 1973 and went to work as a lab and X-ray technician 
for Dr. Rose in Sacramento. He retired in 1991.

He enjoyed playing pool, reading, and spending time with his 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mary Paul, 
White City; a son, Steve, Sacramento, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 23 
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
