::Denison Cemetery--Idabel OK

A GOOD CITIZEN DIED SATURDAY -- S.G. SWAN OF THIS CITY DIED SATURDAY
AFTER AN OPERATION FOR APPENDICITIS.

When the news reached Idabel Sunday morning that S.G. Swan, one of Idabel's
pioneer citizens, had died Saturday night after an operation for
appendicitis, there were hundreds of citizens who received the information
with deep regret.  Mr. Swan has lived here since statehood and was a good
reliable citizen.  His wife died several years ago and he has since that
time devoted his life to the raising and educating of his children, which
are as follows:  Misses Annie V. and Katrina, Sell, Billie, Lillian and
Charline Swan.  His body was brought here Sunday and was placed in a vault
by the side of his wife, in the Denison cemetery Monday afternoon.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church Monday afternoon at
4:00 by Rev. Willmoore Kendall, pastor.  There was a large attendance and
the floral offerings were of the very nicest flowers.  The nice flowers were
a token of the high esteem in which Mr. Swan and his estimable family are
held by the good people of Idabel.

The McCurtain Gazette extends sympathy to the children and other relatives.
