All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED Tebay, Herschel Dale 1924 - 2005 Herschel Dale Tebay, 80, a retired machinist, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at his residence. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Monday in Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Williams officiating. Memorials: Happy Hills Farm Children's Home in Granbury. Dale, as he was known to his friends, retired from Bell Helicopter in Hurst and was a World War II aviator. He was born in Broken Bow, Okla., to Ruby and Herschel "Mac" Tebay in 1924 while Mac worked the oil fields. The family moved to Wichita Falls and later to Graham, where Dale attended school. After a early graduation, he started pre- med studies at SMU when he was 17. He joined the Army Air Forces during World War II and was a fighter pilot instructor. An avid bowler and fisherman, Dale excelled at everything he set his mind to. He started at Bell Helicopter in the early 1960s and retired in 1983. He moved to Graford in 1998. Survivors: Wife, Maxie Jo "Jody" Tebay of Graford; son, Herschel Tebay and wife, Debbie, of Granbury; daughters, Angelina Hurt of Portland and Michelle Sims of White Settlement; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Peterson and husband, Dale, of Austin.
