McCurtain County Local Newspaper: Oct. 28, 1926 CHARLES DANIEL TOUCHSTONE DIED ____________ LAST SATURDAY MORNING FOLLOWING A NIGHT'S ILLNESS; BURIAL SATURDAY P.M. Little Charles Daniel Touchstone the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. J. Touchstone, of this city, died Saturday morning following a night's illness, caused from drinking a small quantity of coal oil on the preceding day, late in the evening. From reports received, it seems that the child picked up the coal oil can and as all children usually do, put it to his mouth and drank some of it, thus becoming very ill. Drs. R.H. Sherrill and N.L. Barker attended to him but all in vain, the little fellow passed away, Saturday morning at 7:00 o'clock. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the family residence, Rev. G.M. McNeilly, pastor of the First Baptist church, having charge of the service. He was buried at the Baptist cemetery. The News joins the entire community in extending words of kindness and sympathy to the Touchstone family in their hours of bereavement. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to McCurtain Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/mccurtain/mccurtai.htm
