VESS DIES AT HOME HERE SUNDAY John Simon Vess, 78, Broken Bow, died at his home at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. He had been in ill health for many years. Born October 2, 1872, in Tennessee, he had resided in Broken Bow for the past 45 years, moving from Horatio. He was a farmer and a member of the Baptist church. He is survived by his widow; five daughters, Mrs. Archie Williamson, Burney, Calif.; Mrs. Freddie Brown, Malvern, Ark.; Mrs. Orville Clayborn, Wright City, and Mrs. Marbel Lyons and Mrs. Tommie Brown, both of Broken Bow; three sons, Quinton Vess, Burney; Sherrill Vess, Smithville, and Elza Vess, Trona, Calif.; one brother, J.W. Vess, Horatio; one sister, Mrs. N.L. Leverett, Horatio; 27 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Funeral services have been set for 2:30 p.m. today at the Broken Bow Assembly of God church with Rev. T.C. Burkett officiating. Arrangements and burial in Eagletown cemetery are under direction of Wilson Funeral home.
