Whitten - 69 of Hugo Oklahoma, brother of Mrs. W. J. Smith of Pine Mill Road here [Paris] died Sunday at 10:30 a.m. In the McKinney Veteran's Hospital after 3 years illness. He was formerly assistant post master at Idabel OK. Funeral Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. In Hugo at the Lampton Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Born at Cooper, November 16, 1891, he was the son of Mr. & Mrs. W. F. Whitten his father having been a school teacher and lawyer in Delta and Lamar Counties. He was member of the Church of Christ, a WWI veteran, member of the American Legion and the Masonic Order in Hugo where he had lived for a number of years. He attended school in Paris. Survivors include a son, Col.
