All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Valliant Cemetery--Valliant OK Obituary: McCurtain Daily Gazette, Idabel, McCurtain County, Oklahoma Tuesday, May 11, 2004 Photo: Dempsey Williamson = WILLIAMSON RITES SET FRIDAY = Dempsey Williamson, 90 Wright City, passed away today, May 11, 2004, at his residence. He was born Dec. 27, 1913, at Valliant, the son of George Henry and Nora Kirby Williamson. He and Lizzie Reich were married Oct. 6, 1985, at Paris, Texas. Dempsey was a retired heavy-equipment mechanic, having worked in California for many years. He loved gardening and spending time with the family and friends. Dempsey as a very giving person and was willing to do anything to help others. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wright City, and had moved back to this area 20 years ago from California. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Bert Clark Williamson; a stepson, Bill Reich; and a stepdaughter, Dorothy Reich Minter. Dempsey is survived by his wife, Lizzie Williamson, Wright City; a son and daughter-in-law. Bill and Pat Williamson, Fresno, Calif; his grandchildren, Greg Williamson and Cindy Williamson, both of Fresno, Calif; a stepdaughter, Vickey Davis, Roxton, Texas; 10 step- grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a host of friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2004, at the First Baptist Church, Wright City, with Bro. Nate Capps officiating. Interment will follow in Valliant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Norwood-Coffey-Leonard Funeral Home, Idabel. Memorial Tributes can be made at www.mem.com.
