All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The McIntosh County Democrat, Thursday, March 17, 2005, PAGE 7 Louis Leon Bogges, a resident of Hitchita was born June 23, 1931, in Minco, Okla., to Juanita Bullard Bogges and Theodore Jefferson Bogges. He passed away March 10, 2005 at Muskogee, Okla., at the age of 73 years 8 months and 17 days. He was married to Hazel Tallant Bogges at San Francisco, Calif., on Nov 15, 1947. In 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until May 1954 during the Korean conflict. He married in California and moved to Oklahoma in 1961. He lived in the Hitchita area for over 35 years. He was a member of Hitchita Freewill Baptist Church. He owed and operated L & H Concrete Company in Hitchita for approximately 15 years. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, an auxiliary police officer for Okmulgee Police Department, assistant fire chief for the Hitchita Volunteer Fire Department and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans organization. He was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Bogges, of the home, daughter and son in-law, Cindy and Glen Vail, Hitchita: daughter Juanita Cartwright, Roosevelt Utah; Six grandchildren, Shane Vail, and Casey Vail, and J Likowski, Loretta Kern, Don Likowski and Billie Parson. 13 great- grandchildren: brother Bobby R. Bogges, Henryetta: brother and sister in law, Lawrence and Donna Bogges, Sapulpa; brother and sister in law, All and Pat Bogges, Sabastapol, Calif.; Four sisters in law, Arlene Seamas, Heavener, Okla.: and Shirley Key, Sapulpa, Okla.; Donna Williamson, Checotah, Okla.; and Virginia Phillips, Tulsa, Okla. Pallbearers were Don Likowski, J. Likowski, Shane Vail, Casey Vail, Bill Ford and Eli Ford. Honorary Pallbearers were Glen Vail, Phil Davis, Johnny Ezell, Roy Rogers, Johnny Collins and Johnny Carson. Services were Monday, March 14, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at Midway Grade School Gymnasium officiated by Bro. Russell Lowe. Burial was at Lackey Cemetery under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home.
