Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday in Wade Family Funeral Home Chapel, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with the Rev. Tommy Foster officiating. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wade Family Funeral Home. Carol was born July 2, 1952, to Donald and Dee Coleman in Checotah, Okla. She was raised in Arlington and was a graduate of Eastern Hills High School and Baylor University. Carol returned to Arlington in 1998 and taught in the Arlington and Grand Prairie school districts. She had previously been an employee of General Motors in Shreveport for 10 years. Prior to that, Carol taught in Karnack. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Survivors: Husband, Jim Birner of Arlington; sons, Bryan Fletcher Hammond and John Coleman Hammond; father, Don Coleman and wife, June; sister, Nan Kovar; and grandchildren, Hannah and Sarah Hammond.
