All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Edgar Ree Cantrell 1919 - 2003 Edgar Ree Cantrell was born on December 31, 1919, in Checotah, Oklahoma, to Gertie and William Cantrell and went to be with our Lord on February 28, 2003. Ed was in the U.S. Army during WWII and was very proud of his military career. Ed retired from the Kern County School District at the age of 59 and spent the next 25 years as a crossing guard, a job that he truly loved. All of the children were special to him as he was to them. He dearly loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his animals and gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Edna M. Cantrell, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Cantrell, Joe Fine, Wayne Hodson, Tom Howard, Richard Pruitt and Steve Pruitt. Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 5, at 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
