She taught Sunday school for many years and there were several she taught that went into the ministry. She owned Burger Island that was known for her special and secret seasoning salt. She was deeply loved by those who knew her and considered a mother and grandmother by many that she either taught or babysat. She had a tremendous giving spirit and was always willing to help or prepare a meal for those in need. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Leon F. Hawley, two infant sons, Charles Wayne and William Elmer and two brothers one of which was deceased in combat during World War II. Denise Vanderpool and Breanne Maltone. "Granny" loved to fish and spent many hours on the banks of the Kern River. She also avidly loved to crochet, making beautiful things for family and friends.
