She was born in checotah, OK. Helen was a beloved wife, loving mother, sister and best friend. She adored life and being with family and friends. Helen had a personality people were drawn to, and made friends wherever she went. She loved going on vacations and was making plans with her sister to take a nostalgic trip back to Checotah, Oklahoma, where she was born. Helen was preceded in death by her mother Geneva Hedger, and father Claude Cook. She is survived by Maynard Leyva, daughter Laura Leyva Slater, son John Leyva and Joyce, sister Claudette Daniels and husband George, nephews Dennis Ottens, James Ottens, and companion Debbie. Eric and Lonnie Daniels, as well as grandchildren Johnathon and Anthony Leyva, and two great nieces Chantil and Ashley Ottens. Visitations will be held on Sunday, March 5th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Hillcrest. Services will be held Monday, March 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Greenacres First Baptist Church, 2550 Jewetta Ave. in Rosedale. Pallbearers will be John Leyva, Anthony Leyva, Johnathon Leyva, James Ottens, Dennis Ottens, George Daniels, Lonnie Daniels, James Beaver. Helen will be missed by all her family and friends, it comforts us to know she is now at the Lord's side.
