All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Greenlawn Cemetery--Checotah OK Luck, Bessie Emerson (Rorex) Bessie (Rorex) Emerson Luck, of Muskogee died Monday, October 20, 2003. She was born December 31, 1912 in Eufaula to James and Ada Rorex. She was a 1932 graduate of Checotah High School and married to Herman Emerson. They both graduated from Northeastern State Teacher's College. Bessie began teaching in two-teacher rural schools around Checotah, and taught elementary in Checotah through 1958. She married W. B. Luck of Muskogee in 1959 and taught fifth grade at Tony Goetz Elementary in Muskogee until her retirement in 1974-1975. Bessie was a member of the Church of Christ for more than 60 years. She worshipped with the Eastside, Chandler Road, and Muskogee Churches of Christ. She was active in the Muskogee Retired Teacher's Association and a contributing member of the Shakespeare Club of Muskogee. She bowled in the retired teacher's league and bowled a 188 league game at age 85. Bessie is survived by two daughters, Pat Miner Morelock and husband Max of Henderson, NV and Janice Ward and husband Joe of Muskogee; two sons, Charles Emerson and wife Judy of Broken Arrow, and Kenneth Luck and wife Carolyn of Muskogee; twin sister Jessie Dallaire of Tulsa; grandchildren, Mendy McClure and husband Kennie of San Diego, CA, Carol Poe and husband Jeff of San Diego, Diana Bradley of Albuquerque, Kevin Luck and wife Sherry of Atlanta, Kent Luck of Iowa, Jason Emerson and wife Crystal of Oklahoma City, and Clint Emerson and wife Amy of New Orleans, LA; nine great-grandchildren, Sean O'Donnell, Kevin Poe, Michael Poe, Conner Bradley, Arik Bradley, Cameron Luck, Colin Luck, Isabella Emerson and Angelina Emerson; and a host of other relatives and friends. Her parents, husband's, and four sisters, Rose Williams, Effie Williams, Lela Roland and Dorothy Crawford, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 9:30 Saturday in Muskogee at Fosters' Ivory Chapel with Mr. Harry Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery at Checotah with Mr. Jimmie Wray Mead officiating. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home in Muskogee.
