(Hun) McIntosh, 74 years old, a resident of Checotah for 60 years and son of a Confederate colonel for whom McIntosh County was named, died at his home in the north part of the city Tuesday morning after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon with Rev. E.A. Spiller officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery. He was the youngest son of Col. Daniel McIntosh and Jane Ward McIntosh. When the land was governed by Creek laws he was a member of the Light Horse Company, holding a position as department chief. Later he served as United States Indian policeman under Colonel Schoenfelt, U.S. Indian Agent. McIntosh received his early education at the old Asbury Mission located east of Eufaula in schools supported by the Creek government. He married Miss Alice Bailey in 1892 Survivors include: his widow, five daughters, Mrs. Virginia Stout of Sapulpa, Mrs. Orville Lynn of Checotah, Mrs. Paul Pearson and Mrs. Harry Brewer of Muskogee, and Mrs. Roscoe Robertson of Checotah; one son Daniel N. McIntosh of Checotah; two half brothers D.M. McIntosh of Stidham and W.Y. McIntosh of Miami; three half sisters, Mrs. E.I. Smith of Sparks, Nevada, Mrs. Noco Hyland of Vinta and Mrs. C.W.
