Martin, Jr. passed on January 21, 2003. Earl was born September 10, 1913 in Krebs, Oklahoma to Earl and Minnie Martin. He served with the U.S. Army over seas during WW II. He worked at Tinker AFB as a civilian until he retired after 29 years. Earl was a lifetime member of the D A V Oklahoma Chapter 11. Plus he was a member of the American Legion Post #82 and was at one time Fire Chief for 7 years of the Leisure Land Volunteer Fire Department. He and his wife built a home in Checotah, Oklahoma where he lived up until his passing. He loved to talk about his medals from when he was in the military. The one big thing he loved to talk about was fishing, he could tell some good fish tales. Earl is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, a son and a stepson. He is survived by his wife Martha of the home, two sons Earl Ray Martin of Oklahoma City, Lee Martin of Wichita, Kansas, one stepson Robert David Moorman of Del City, Okla.; two daughters Claudine Gilbert of Wyoming, Bonnie Bennett of Del City, Okla.; one step-daughter Twala Pope of Shawnee, Okla. He had 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren. He will be truly missed. Services will be at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at 5005 S.E. 29th, Del City, Okla. at 2:00pm on Saturday January 25, 2003. His final resting place will be at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
