He was born August 24, 1922 in Hitchita, Ok, to Maude A. and William A. Morton. He was the middle of their eleven children. He served in the U.S. Army from November 23, 1943, until his honorable discharge August 31, 1945. He was wounded in France during WWII and received the EAME Theatre Medal, Two Bronze Service Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart, and the Good Conduct Medal, among others. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beulah Dean Morton, daughter and husband Sharlene and Norman Hill, daughter and husband Pamela and Richard Haseloff, son and wife Carl and Thresia Wood, daughter and husband Lyla Sue and Art Rousseau, 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Mandeville and Mrs. Marthalena Allen. Ohland, Daddy and Paw-Paw will forever be our hero. Services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home Chapel, Okmulgee, Oklahoma and immediately following at the Okmulgee Cemetery, with visitation available Wednesday, December 14, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home.
