Services were Sept. 25 in the Kelley Memorial Chapel of Black’s Funeral Home followed by burial in Greenwood cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Stanley of Porum; a daughter and son-in-law, Deneice and Keith Hobbs of Bokoshe; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael paul and Shelby Brady of Keota, Lawrence Alan and Leslie Brady of Rock Island; two sisters, Shirlene Lewis of Midwest City and Pam Keeter of Checotah; a brother, Wymoth Roberts of Checotah; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. THE INDIAN JOURNAL Thursday, August 10, 2000 ELIJAH BASKIN The Lord blessed William and Penina Stanton Baskin with a baby boy on April 4, 1912 in Rentiesville, OK. He was given the name Elijah and was the youngest of six children. On May 24, 1948 he was united in marriage to Erma Harper. On July 8, 2000 the Lord took him home. Interment was held in Honey Springs Cemetery. His wife of 40 years, Erma, and three of his children and his parents went before him. The family leaves behind his daughter, Bettie Striblen of Rentiesville, OK; two sons, William Baskin of Muskogee, Ok and Ellis Baskin, a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester, all of Seguin, TX; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He married Kay Day on Jun 14, 19673 at Eufaula, and died Thursday June 15, at his home in Eufaula. Services were June 17 at the Eufaula Church of Christ followed by burial with Military Rites at the Hanna Cemetery under the direction of Black's Funeral Home, Eufaula. Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Richard Peckio of McAlester; two sons and a daughter -in-law, James Herman Pendley, Jr. of Eufaula and Jeff and Alicia Pendley of Broken Arrow; two sisters, Joann Harmon of Dustin and Kay Mitchell of Edmond; four granddaughters, Casey Wright of Eufaula, Ashley Pendley of Henryetta, and Chelsie and Chandler Peckio of McAlester; one grandson, Michael Pendley of Eufaula; and numerous nieces and nephews.
