Pierce, 67, of Eufaula, passed away Friday, July 25, 2003, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, at the Kelley Memorial Chapel of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home, Eufaula, with the Reverend John Basden officiating. Burial will be at the Bower Cemetery. A.J. was born on September 25, 1935, at Horseshoe Lake, Eufaula, the son of Harvey and Velta Ethel Edna Nora (Reed) Pierce. He graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City, in June of 1954. A.J. was baptized at the First Southern Baptist Church of Del City. On April 19, 1957, A.J. married Junita Pierce in Choctaw, Oklahoma. A.J. worked as a sheet metal machine operator for W.H. Stewart Company in Oklahoma City. He retired in 1995 after 41 years of service. A.J. loved to bowl, work with the boy scouts, fish and hunt. He was a member of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Junita of the home; two sons Rick and Larry Pierce of Eufaula; two daughters, Anita Sutton and husband Glen of Eufaula and Judy Shelton and husband Andy of Burkburnett, Texas; one brother, Herbert and wife Junelle Pierce of Mustang, and one sister, Barbara and husband Henry Gregor of McAlester. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Amy, Ken, Chris, Larry Allen and Larry Dwayne Jr. Pierce, Cheryl Lagrassa, Alta JoAnn Pierce, Christina Shelton, Ariel and Garrett Sutton and numerous nieces and nephews.
