She was born in Whitehall, New York on Tuesday, November 24, 1908. Adelaide was married to Willis S. Rice on October 12, 1929. She lived in Schenectady, New York until 1955 and then moved to Roanoke, VA. In 1989 Adelaide moved to Chickamauga, GA. with her son and daughter-in-law until 1995 when she moved to Eufaula, OK. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Checotah, OK. and enjoyed working with the F.L.E.A.S. Adelaide was preceded in death by her mother Anna Schryver, father Ben Schryver; husband Willis S. Rice, on February 23, 1979, her granddaughter, Lisa Rice, a granddaughter-in-law, Meredith Rice, five sisters and two brothers. Adelaide is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Willis Jr. & Joyce Rice, of Eufaula, OK. and also a son Richard A. Rice of Marathon, FL. Adelaide was the proud grandmother of Linda Ryan of Biloxie, MS., David Rice of Clearwater, FL., step-grandmother to Ted Perkins of Atlanta, GA., Karyn Perkins of Eufaula, OK. and Tim Perkins of Chickamauga, GA. She also had 15 great grandchildren. She will be missed but remembered for her kindness and love for others. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 1, 2006 in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Roanoke, Virginia.
