Floyd, age 82, went home to be with his Lord January 20, 2003. Floyd was born in Chandler, OK and except for his years in military service, he lived his life in Midwest City and Eufaula, OK. Floyd proudly served in the Army/Air Corp during WWII in the European Theater, N. Africa and Italy. He remained in the reserves and was called back to active duty during the Korean War. Floyd was awarded the Victory WWII Medal and the Army Conduct Medal. Upon his discharge from the military he entered into the Veterans Vocational Training Program where he completed his apprenticeship as an automotive repair and refinish technician. He began his career at Northway Ford in 1948 and spent the majority of his career Supervising the paint/refinish shops at Scott Chevorlet and 15 years at Hudiburg Chevrolet until his retirement. Floyd loved his Lord, wife, family and country. He enjoyed fishing, nature, and his four legged best friend Nikki. He also loved serving as Deacon for Oakridge Baptist Church in Eufaula. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sybol 'Jerry', of the home in Midwest City, a son, Tom Stidham and wife Barbara of MWC, a daughter Sharon K. Simpson and husband Jim, of Del City, 5 granddaughters, Natalie & Mike Diehl of Tulsa, Shelbie & Matt Avery of Tulsa, Amber Stidham of MWC, Amy & John Matteson of Yukon, Angie & Ron Ainsworth of MWC, four great grandchildren, 5 brothers Ray, Elmo, Kenneth, Bobby, Lloyd, and 2 sisters Wanda Clark and Lorrene Ruth. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lennie Stidham of Chandler, an infant brother Arthur, and a sister Ruby Gormley. The family expresses a special thank you to Dr. C. Redding, Dr. G. Dasharathy, Baptist Integris Hospital-floor 10 East, the Lakes Nursing Ctr and Hospice. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Oklahoma City under the direction of Paylor Funeral Home, Thurs. at 2pm. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Kidney Foundation of Oklahoma.
