Davis Coin 'D.C.' Sellers, Jr., passed away March 7 after a lengthy illness. D.C. was born in 1917 in Oklahoma City and grew up in the oil boom towns of Shamrock and Drumright, Oklahoma. He worked for many years in the family bank in Drumright, then moved to Grants, New Mexico, in 1961 to help run the First National Bank during the uranium boom days. D.C. moved his family back to Oklahoma City in 1962, where he was Executive Vice-President of the innovative State Capitol Bank. His last banking job was as Executive Vice-President of the First National Bank of Bethany, Oklahoma. D.C. then worked briefly after retirement as Receiver for the Small Business Administration in Oklahoma City. He spent ten years of his retirement in Eufaula, Oklahoma, where he and his wife built a lakeside home. They have lived for the past three years in Santa Fe, New Mexico. D.C. was preceded in death by his four brothers: Jack, James, Hugh and Bill Sellers. D.C. is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, and by: sister Janice Crouch and husband Jack, sister Miriam Lapham, son Davis Coin Sellers, III, and wife Charlotte, son Jon Duncan Sellers, daughter Ann Hunziker and husband Rudolf, four grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. There will be no services for D.C. If you wish to remember him in some way, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
