Sanders 1919-2001 Services: Wed., Sept. 10, 1p.m. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. for Kenneth Sanders. Born April 7, 1919, to Jessie and Jack Sanders in Checotah, Oklahoma. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Dortha. They married December 4, 1945 in Oklahoma. They immediately packed up their belongings and moved to California, where they lived until his passing. Kenneth is also survived by his two daughters and son-in-laws, Joyce and Richard Simmons, and Joann and Wade Pettitt. Kenneths grandchildren, Debbie and Tim Prazure, and Kenneth and Beverly Mount, who were a great source of pride for him. He especially loved his great grandchildren, Amber, Courtney, and Marissa. Kenneth Sanders was the type of person who never met a stranger. He was a kind, loving, and well liked man. He loved to make divinity at Christmas time and to his friends and family he was famous for his peach cobbler. He loved spending time in the summer picking tomatoes with his family. Mr. Sanders entered the Army in 1941 and during his hitch, received the American Defense, European Campaign Victory, and American Company Medals. As a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign War, he served as both Post Commander as well as District Comander of the 9th District. Kenneth worked several years in the oilfields and served in the Kern County Sheriff Reserve for 10 years before retiring. We love you and we will miss you dearly Dad. Your little girls will watch over mom just as you have for the past 56 years. God has taken you to a very special place where one day we can all be together again. We love you, Mom, Girls, Family & Friends.
