Weeks, Opal Christine Funeral services for Opal Christine Weeks will be held at Faith Temple Church (1227 Park Drive) on Tuesday afternoon, March 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Norman and Dr. Stan Fortenberry will officiate. Funeral services will also be held at Hunn, Black & Merritt Chapel in Eufaula, OK on Friday afternoon, March 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Reverend Bobby Willeby will officiate. Pallbearers will be Terry Proe, Tom Reasnor, Justin Reasnor, David Montgomery, Scott Eakle and Brett Effinger. Opal Christine Weeks, 78, of Bakersfield, California was called home by her Lord and Savior on March 11, 2006 at San Joaquin Community Hospital. She had dedicated her life in service to the Lord, her family and her church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Opal was born February 24, 1928 in Eufaula, Oklahoma the daughter of Everitt and Nervie (Foster) Montgomery. She attended school at Artussee and El Centro Jr. College in Dallas, TX. She was a food supervisor for a retirement center for many years. Opal devoted her life taking care of her family and working tirelessly serving God. She loved to sing and never turned down an opportunity to sing a special at church. She was a faithful Christian woman. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Being in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ make Heaven more precious to us. Opal married Archie Weeks on August 26, 1999 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was a member of Faith Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bakersfield. She leaves in God's care her loving husband Archie of the home; daughter, Sharon Kilgore of Stigler, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Lowell Johnson of Longview, WA; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Judy Weeks of Bakersfield; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Jackie Weeks of Bakersfield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Wayne Proe and Mary and George Long of Eufaula, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Wanda Montgomery of Eufaula, OK, Bob and Linda Montgomery of Checotah, OK, James and Hazel Montgomery of Lawton, OK and Donald and Kim Montgomery of Abilene, KS; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; nieces, Shawna and Sonya Proe as well as numerous nephews, other relatives and friends.
