   KELLEY, GEN. BENJAMIN F., born in New Hampshire, April 10, 1807.
   Entered the volunteer army as colonel from Virginia, and was several
   times wounded in action. Commanded in West Virginia in 1863. Brevetted
   major-general March, 1865. After the close of war he held various
   federal offices.
