   p.582
   WEED, GEN. STEPHEN H., born in New York City 1834. Graduated at West
   Point 1854. Served on frontier, in Utah, and elsewhere. Promoted to
   captain May, 1861. Served in command of a battery through Peninsula
   campaign. Promoted to brigadier-general for gallantry at
   Chancellorsville. Killed at Gettysburg July 2, 1863.
