   p.581
   McCOOK, GEN. ROBERT LATIMER, born in New Lisbon, Ohio, December 28,
   1827. Entered upon practice of law in Cincinnati. Organized 9th Ohio
   regiment, 1861. Commanded a brigade in West Virginia. Transferred to
   Army of the Ohio, and fought at Mill Springs January 19, 1862, where
   he was wounded. Promoted to brigadier-general March 21, 1862. Shot by
   guerillas near Salem, Ala., August 6, 1862.
