Oklahoma City Oklahoma Son of Mr and Mrs E. A. Voss; born Feb 2, 1896, Coryell Co, TX; educated in the OK public schools; entered service Jun 8, 1918; ordered to Camp Cody, NM, for training with the 388th Inf; Shortly after entering camp, he was stricken with the influenza which rapidly developed into pneumonia, which resulted in his death, Mar 19, 1918. In Sep 1917, Mr Voss was married to Miss Ethel Meeke, who, with his mother and father, survive him. He is buried in Fairlawn Cem, Oklahoma City, OK. Voss; born Jun 18, 1893, Coryell Co, TX; educated in the OK public schools; entered service Nov 8, 1918; ordered to Camp Cody, NM, for training with the 388th Inf; shortly after entering camp, he was taken ill and sent to th hospital, where he was seriously sick for some time; after recovery, he was incapacitated for further duty and was discharged Dec 23, 1918. 26,y VOWELL, Homer T. 1st Cl Pvt Norman Cleveland Son of Mr and Mrs W. T. Vowell; born Jun 29, 1897, Norman, OK; enlisted Oct 3, 1917; trained at Camp Bowie; discharged June 24, 1919. 116,y VRANA, Edward 1st Cl Pvt Oklahoma City Oklahoma Son of Mr and Mrs Antone Vrana, RR # 9; born Feb 16, 1892, Bell Co, TX; educated in the public schools of OK; entered service Jun 30, 1917; trained at Fort Sill and other camps; overseas France, Jul 1918; served in Co C, 142nd Inf, 36th Div; battles of St Mihiel and the Argonne; was KIA, in the latter engagement, by machine gun bullet. Shortly after his death, he was seen by his brother, who was carring ammunition. Was the first Oklahoman to receive the Medal -Croix de Guerre from the French Government. Another of these brave souls who gave their lives that the Christian world might live. His name must never be forgotten.
