Her father, James Washington Carroll had been married before to Mary Frances Mabry and they had seven children. Her mother, Maggie Sarah Lee Baucom had been married before to John Wright Caves. Mr. Carroll & Mary "Mollie" Mabry children: Louie (female), Jim, Lela, Steve, Alice, Belva and two that died at an early age were Bessie & Grace. Maggie & John's children: Holland and Bert. Maggie and James chidlren: Ruth, Lona, Clara, Blanch. She says"We came to Oklahoma in a car that wasn't completly paid for & it was against the law to cross over state line, I don't think my dad knew this. We were at Aunt Tides house when the Sherif came & arrested Dad, I don't know but I think they took the car. Dad just stayed one night in jail. We moved to Wynnewood, OK, we were in a covered wagon. So we went to a wagon yard where all people traveling that way stayed at night. The owner of the wagon yard also had a Department store, so he hired dad to take care of the wagon yard, and hired moma to run a little reasturant, we lived in back of it...." "...We later moved to a farm & lived on different ones, renting & share croping. We were so poor and the rain & hail would destroy our crops. Dad was a carpenter so we moved to Duncan, OK. and he worked the oil fields doing carpenter work for about a year. Then we moved back to Chigley, OK. ...... Belva went to live with Louie & finished her schooling and became a teacher. Louie was a teacher also....Lona, Ruth, Clara and I [Blanch] went to Cligley school.. ...Lela worked for Winnie Gettles....dad passed away on fathers day about 8am....." this is the parts that mentions the area in this county. My grandmother (Agnes A. Bailey listed in above 1910 census, better known by her middle name of Azzie) was born in Sulphur in 1906; her husband Bert Caves was born "near Ardmore" in 1903. They married in Wynnewood in 1922. They move to CA in 1933 and they were married for 72 1/2 year when my grandmother died in 1984. The Aunt Tide that Blanch mentions is a Caves and was married to Syl Walker. I believe I have a copy of a Sulphur or Pauls Valley news paper with an article in it about him. I will look later. The wagon yard memories in Wynnewood were when Aunt Blanch was about 3 to 5 years old (she was born in 1915.) James Washington Carroll died somewhere around Sulphur or Wynnewood in April of 1933.
