'UNCLE BILLY' SMITH is having a tussle with malarial fever, but is much better and is expected to be up soon. W. P. MORSE died last Friday and was buried Sunday morning, the services being in the hands of the G. A. R. Mr. Morse was 84 years old and had been in feeble health for some time. R. R. MITCHELL was called to Wilmington, Ohio to the bedside of his daughter, MRS. DENNIS OGLESBY, the first of last week and telegraphed that she had died on Friday morning. The sympathy of many friends is extended to Mr. Mitchell and his family. Mr. and Mrs. RAMBEAU of Marietta are here for the summer and have taken a house on 12th street. MRS. JOHN H. WILLIAMS of Poteau is here visiting her brother, ORLAND L. HENLEY, and will spend some time in our midst. She is a great favorite here and her many friends are giving her a royal welcome. J. C. POTTS, who has been sick for some time, is up again and his many friends are glad to see him out. REV. and MRS. HENDRICKS of the Presbyterian Church are planning a reception to the membership of the Manse Friday night at which a most pleasant time is expected. REV. M. C.
