E. E. EZELL returned from a two weeks trip to Hugo. JUDGE LEWIS of Davis had business in court this week. DEPUTY SHERIFF BOSE JOHNSON of Dougherty is here this week. BOYD B. HORSMAN visited in Wynnewood. MRS. B. A NELSON, who has been quite sick with pneumonia, is improving. JIM DRAUGHON, a prominent hardware man of Davis, attended court here. DEPUTY SHERIFF MOON of Davis attended court this week. D.W. TULEY, one of the good old substantial Democrats of Drake, was in the city and renewed his subscription at the Democrat office. C. J. WEBSTER of Oklahoma City and EARLY BAYLESS of Claremore are attending court here. JUDGE FAGAN, MAYOR KENDALL, and ATTORNEY ALLEN attended justice court at Drake. BLACK JAMES of Crusher, one of the prominent citizens of the south part of the county, was here Saturday. JOHN PEAKE, who was operated on for appendicitis a few days ago, is doing nicely and able to sit up. The Democrat received a card from JOHN HASSAN who is visiting in Asia. He writes that he is having a good time. R.W . CHANEY is handing out cards announcing his candidacy as county clerk. W. C. MORGAN of Dougherty was here Monday. He is having trouble with his throat and is under treatment of a specialist in Oklahoma City. J. C. HYNDS and wife left Tuesday for San Diego, California where they will spend six months for the benefit of his health. MRS. JOHN GUESS died quite suddenly Saturday night. It was thought to be spinal meningitis, but a test by the state chemist at Norman found no trace of meningitis. She had been married about two years and leaves a husband. Notice to Visitors On and after March 31, 1912, the hours at the Pavilion at Bromide and Medicine Springs will be 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. WILL J. FRENCH, superintendent. District Court in Session Hung jury for the case of BEN CATON For County Clerk BOYD B. HORSMAN has entered the race for county clerk. He is an exemplary young man, born in Missouri and came to Indian Territory in 1904, has spent eight years in Murray and Garvin Counties. He taught school two terms at Nebo and one at Carr Flat. He has been deputy county clerk since August 1910. Arrested for Horse Theft LEM WOODS, owner of a sale and livery barn of Pauls Valley, and his brother, CLARENCE WOODS, have been arrested, charged with the theft of some horses from S. R. MARSH near Nebo. Mr. Marsh and J. S. BENN had several horses and mules stolen from the first of the year. The Anti-Horse Thief Association had 3000 cards printed offering a reward. One of the horses was found, having been sold from the Woods stable. BLACK JAMES and S. R. MARSH worked up the case and say they have strong evidence. SAM CLOUGH Died Suddenly Our entire city was thrown into mourning last Saturday morning when it became known that SAM CLOUGH, one of our leading attorneys and best citizens, had died suddenly of heart failure at about 10:00. Mr. Clough was in fine health which made his death all more shocking. … A host of friends joins his wife and the four fatherless children in the their grief. Mr. Clough was a Mason and that order escorted the remains to the train Monday morning where the remains were shipped to Missouri, his old home. His wife, children and a brother accompanied the remains to Missouri. Resolutions of respect for Mr. Clough: SAMUEL CLOUGH was born in Clark County, Missouri, July 1, 1874 and died in Sulphur, Oklahoma April 5, 1912. He was admitted to the bar in Scotland County, Missouri August 1, 1898, later he was admitted by the Supreme Court to practice in Oklahoma., January 3, 1907. He was city attorney at Thomas for two years and assistant county attorney in Murray County form 1909 to 1911. Mr. Clough was married to MISS MARY LILLIAN PULLIAM June 17, 1904, she and four children are left to mourn the untimely loss… Notice of Publication: EDWARD E.
