J. R. FANT was down from Oklahoma City. Uncle JIMMIE MILLER is reported quite sick at his home. MRS. U. K. KENNEY is visiting with MRS. ED NEWBLOCK at Oklahoma City this week. MRS. C. M. PERDUE now has charge of the Traventine Inn dining room. J. S. NOWLIN, who has been indisposed for several days, is able to be on the streets. O. B BECKHAM returned from an extended business trip. MRS. J. C. ROWLAND returned Tuesday from a visit with her daughter, MRS. J. T DODSON at Woodville. J. G. LIEBMAN was a fair visitor at Oklahoma City Monday and heard the Bull Mooser candidate speak. WHITE FROST left Monday for Durant where he will enter his adopted daughter, FANNIE WILLIAMS, in the State Normal school. NOBLE MITCHELL is home from an extended trip to Canada and cities on the Pacific coast. J. A BIRCH living in West Sulphur, died Friday night of typhoid fever. He had been in feeble health for more than two years. He left a wife and children. J. H. JAMES of Fort Worth is here for his health. Mr. James came here the latter part of the spring nearer dead than alive, but after drinking our famous waters for some time, left for his home almost entirely cured. C. B. WARD was taken to Oklahoma City by DR. A. H. SULLIVAN last week where he had his jaw operated on for a cancer. Mr. Ward had a tooth pulled several months ago and the jaw bone was broken, causing cancer to form. CHARLES W. NORTON, who has been the 'dope-mixer' for the New Century at Sulphur, was expelled from the socialist party by Local Sulphur September 19 and has quit the town, wife and debts. When STANLEY CLARK was in the mire not long since, Norton stripped off, waded in and helped him out. Watch Clarks' reciprocity. Printed in the Wynnewood Gazette. MRS. A. J. PORTER has been in Wynnewood attending the bedside of her father, V. H. ALLEN, who is suffering from blood poison. He is 75 years old and it is feared he will not recover. His whole arm is affected and is giving him considerable pain. It started from a small scratch from a nail on the back of his hand. A Pleasant Surprise MRS. W. R. GREABR and MRS. W. D. HARMON tendered MRS. E. F. PRESSON, the former's mother, a delightful surprise Wednesday, the event being in honor of her birthday. They repaired to the Presson home on First Street East about noon time with well filled baskets of toothsome dainties. The invited guests were MRS. E. M. ROGES, MR.S G. E NICHOLSON, MRS. W. A. MAXEY, and MRS. J. W. HARROD having just preceded them. All entered into the spirit of the occasion and report a pleasant time. Mrs. Presson was the recipient of many nice and useful presents and all left wishing her many happy returns of the day. ESTES-HIGGASON Wedding JOHN F. ESTES and MRS. DELIA O. HIGGASON were quietly married at the home of the bride's mother, MRS. MARY MOORE, on First Street East, Sunday afternoon at 4:00, only relatives and a few intimate friends being present, REV. R. W. CUMMINS officiating. The contracting parties are both well and favorably known in this city, having lived here a number of years, and having many friends, with whom the Democrat joins in extending congratulations.
