LAMYER MOYER 20 of Davis to (bad print) Rites for Mrs. Sheegog Funeral services were held this afternoon for Mrs. MARY ELLEN SHEEGOG, age 75, who died at her home, 516 East Oklahoma yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Sheegog was the mother of GROVER and LEWIS SHEEGOG of Sulphur. MARY ELLEN DELLINGER was born at Jackson, Missouri February 22, 1864. She moved with her family to Cooke County, Texas where she grew to young womanhood. She married WILLIE SHEEGOG November 2, 1887. In 1890 they moved to Purcell an four years later to Palmer near Sulphur. Mr. Sheegog died about 30 years. Mrs. Sheegog was a resident of Sulphur and nearby communities about 45 years. She was stricken with paralysis in 1930 and never fully recovered. She was active in church and club work until her illness. Survivors include three sons, GROVER and LEWIS SHEEGOG of Sulphur, JOHN SHEEGOG of Graham, Texas; three grandchildren, MARY JO SHEEGOG of Sulphur, WILLIE SHEEGOG of Graham, Texas, and Mrs. BILL KELLEY of Coleman, Texas; four brothers, Dr. W. A DELLINGER of Duncan, J. P.! DELLINGER of Ringling, W. J. DELLINGER of Hobart and HOUSTON DELLINGER of Phoenix, Arizona and two sisters, Mrs. JAMES ISBELL HOLMAN of Gravel Hill, Missouri and Mrs. JAMES RED of Spearman, Texas. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Frier Funeral Home chapel with Rev. JAMES C. HARRIS of the First Methodist church officiating. Interment was in the Palmer cemetery. MARTIN of Chigley, age 75, who died of heart trouble at his home near Chigley schoolhouse, Wednesday night. Mr. Martin was born in Alabama May 18, 1864 and spent his last 33 years in Oklahoma. He was well known and highly respected in the Chigley neighborhood. His living relatives are nephews and nieces. Services were held this afternoon at the Frier chapel with Rev. LEONARD PAYNE of the St. Paul Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery. Services for Mrs. Riddle Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. ETHEL RIDDLE, age 36, of Berwyn. Mrs. Riddle was born October 12, 1901 (age does not match). She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, A. L. RIDDLE of Berwyn. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Lewis Cemetery, southeast of Stratford. JACK CHAFFIN of the Church of Christ officiated. A. G. Dunn Funeral home was in charge. New Orleans, Sept. 14: HENRY BOURGEOIS, 51 year old Garmercy, Louisiana farmer, thought he was stung by a bee while sitting in a municipal park but he had been shot. COONROD 33 of Sulphur and Mrs. FAYE CRUM of Hickory; ORVILLE COFER 24 of Sulphur and MYRTLE GATES of Shallowater, Texas. Mrs. Patton Dies at Home Mrs. SUSAN E. PATTON, age 94, died at her home at 1200 Division Street here early Friday morning. Mrs. Patton was the mother of Miss KATHERINE PATTON, assistant cashier at the Farmers National Bank. She was born January 30, 1945 at Raleigh, North Carolina where her early life was spent. She moved with her parents to Tennessee when she was 11 years old. On February 5, 1963, she was married to D. C. PATTON. The couple came to Henrietta, Texas in 1876 where they lived until they came to Sulphur in 1905. Mr. Patton died 1915. Mrs. Patton was a member of the First Baptist Church and was widely known in Sulphur. Survivors include four daughters, Miss Katherine Patton of Sulphur, Mrs. J. B. SPRAGINS, Mrs. J. CONLEE(?), Mrs. CARRIED MORGAN, all of Ardmore; and a son EMMETT PATTON, of Roswell, New Mexico and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church, Rev. ROBERT S. SCALES of the church officiated. Pallbearers were ELMER CARR, JOHN ! HASTE, F. M. SMITH, ERNEST VERNON, J. E. HOFFMAN, and GRADY ALLEN. Interment was at Ardmore directed by Frier Funeral Home. Veteran Davis Teacher Dies Funeral services were held at Davis last Tuesday for Miss LEAH RUSSELL, who died last week after a sudden illness of only a few hours. Miss Russell, age 49, began Monday her 21st year as instructor in the Davis school, and shortly later suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. She suffered from high blood pressure. Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon at the Davis school auditorium, with Rev. C. R. MCCLELLAND of the Davis Baptist Church officiating, assisted by Rev. A. D. WILLIAMS of the Davis Christian Church. Interment was at Davis. Surviving relatives are her mother, Mrs. F. M. RUSSELL, five sisters, Mesdames W. K. CRIPPEN of Davis, DEL RIGGAN of Byars, JOHN MORRIS of Durant, M. L. SPENCE of Shreveport, Louisiana, and GUY BATES of Davis; and two brothers, ERNEST RUSSELL of Wilson and GAUSE RUSSELL of Davis. The Missionary Ladies of the Methodist Church met Wednesday with Mrs. ROBINSON then had a shower for Mrs. LAVERN ETCHERSON DINSLOW, a recent bride. Five Sisters Hold Reunion in Platt Park Five sisters held a family reunion in Platt National Park last week, their first reunion since 1904 when they met near Elkin, North Carolina. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. L. S. WEEKS and son ALLEN C.; Mr. and Mrs. W. E. BILLINGS and daughter GENEVA; Mrs. TOM KING and children JOHN, NELLIE, ERILE, ALFRED and LEONARD, all of Phoenix, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. A. R. MARTIN announce the birth of an 11 pound daughter born Wednesday night at the Sulphur clinic. Rites for Braden Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for A. C. BRADEN, age 29, who died at Seminole Friday morning. He was the son of JIM BRADEN of Big Canyon, and a former citizen of Sulphur. A C. 'REUBEN' BRADE was born August 17, 1910 at Rowlett, Texas. He married JUANITA SAMPLEY, daughter of Mrs. D. C. SAMPLEY of Sulphur, September 7, 1932 in Sulphur. Braden was well known around Sulphur and well liked. He died of heat prostration. Braden went to work Friday morning and worked until about 10:00 then started for another location 10 miles away. After waiting several hours for his return, another employee of the drilling company, for which he worked, went in search. His car was found parked by the side of the road and his body was found under a shade tree about 150 feet from the car. Braden had just recently moved from Illinois to Seminole. He was a mechanic for HEIMERICK and PAYNE Drilling Co. and had worked for them in several states. Survivors include his father, his wife, two ch! ildren, LAQUITA JUNE and ALBERNITA BRADEN, four brothers, BILL, DOC M., and BOOT all of Sulphur and DICK of Ivanhoe, California; six sisters, Mesdames JOE MANN of Sulphur, PRESTON FOSTER of Marshall, Texas, LOUIS BLOCKER of Wichita Falls, Texas, LELAND BROGDON of San Antonio, Texas, IRMA CUMMINGS and Miss EDNA BRADEN of Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Frier chapel with JACK CHAFFIN of the Church of Christ officiating, interment at Oak Lawn cemetery. Pallbearers were M. W. SMITH, R. Murray County Entries Place at Ardmore Fair At the Southern Oklahoma fair and exposition at Ardmore, Miss DORA PEASE, county home demonstration agent, announced these winners: Mrs. NOVA FERGUSON of the Helping Hand Club won first in homemade rugs other than hooked or braided; Mrs. MURPHY BOX of the Woodland Club won second on sack article and Mrs. EDITH ASHTON of the Red Oak Club, won second with her work dress; Mrs. LETHELL HIGGINS of Joy Club won third in street dress. Mr. and Mrs. E. B. LYNN of Ardmore announce the birth of a 6 lb. 14 oz. daughter born Monday afternoon at the Hardy sanitarium. She was named SHARON ELISE. The mother is the former DOROTHY DAVENPORT and is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. RICHARDS of E. Vinita Ave. Thursday, September 28, 1939 County Women Place in Six State Fair Events Mrs. T. S. GRANT of Woodland won first place in 'living room exhibit.' Mrs. KATHERINE GRANT of Woodland placed second in her street dress entry. Mrs. MURPHY BOX of Woodland placed third on sock articles. Murray County placed fifth in state for 'entire clothing budget.' The county canning budget was in the second twenty, red ribbon. In 4-H work, JACQUELEN STEWART of the Sulphur Junior club placed second for cup towels. VIRGINIA LEE MORER of the Hickory club placed seventh on apron and cap. DORIS ROWE of Woodland was tenth on kitchen curtains. Funeral for Miss Gibson Funeral services for VELMA MAY GIBSON, age 22, of Sulphur, will be held Friday afternoon at Tishomingo. Miss Gibson died at her home, 1100 West Tenth, this morning after an illness of 3 years. She was born at Tishomingo September 21, 1917. Survivors include her father, D. E. GIBSON of Tishomingo, and brothers DANOY GIBSON of Clinton and ELMER GIBSON of Florence, Arizona. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Tishomingo with Rev.
