MR. MORIARTY and crew have been busy all week getting things in shape to begin real work… They are busy with a fishing job at the CHOATE well. Revival Begins Friday Night The Baptist revival starts tomorrow night. The singer, L. N. PERKINS, accompanied by Mrs. Perkins, arrived Monday and is training the choir, getting them in good shape for the meeting. The evangelist, REC. C. M. CURB, will arrive tomorrow and take immediate charge of the services. Removal Sale On Aug. 1, we will move our entire stock of goods to Ardmore. … All shelf hardware at a reduction. JOS. W. Born to Mr. and Mrs. U. J. SMITH this morning, a fine boy. A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. S. R. WELLS on the 19th. The parents live 3 miles northeast of Davis. M. R. HIXON, the shoemaker, is nursing a crippled hand, caused by getting it badly sprained by cranking a Ford. Announcement is made that a revival meeting will be started at the Christian church on Aug. 14. REV. JAMES W. MCCRAY of Marietta, brother of the local pastor, REV. C. C. MCCRAY, will begin the services. MARGIE, the 1 year old daughter of MR. BESHAM, who lives near Alpers (formerly Homer) died Tuesday as a result of lockjaw caused by sticking a tack in her heel last Thursday. Burial was at Pooleville. Last week, The News said G. L. MILNER, the baker, was building a house on a lot next to A. J. PETTY's home. We were misinformed in the matter. He is building next to J. C. PAGE's home which is in the same street, but in the next block south. MISS ADELINE GODDARD of Enid, state president of the Young People's Christian Endeavor, lectured at the Christian church Sunday evening in the interest of Endeavor work. Work has been started on a modern bungalow, five rooms and bath, for BRADFORD MOORE. The house is being built on the northwest corner of the block in which M. C. FERGUSON's home is located. JAMES REEDY is the contractor for the job. C. D. CARTER of Oklahoma City was here visiting his friend, JODE R. WILSON, the picture show man. He left Tuesday for Galveston to enjoy the gulf breezes. Mr. Carter is employed by the State Board of Agriculture and is a son of State Auditor FRANK CARTER. RICHARD L. MORTON, the prescription clerk at YOUNGBLOOD's drug store, took the examination before the State Board of Pharmacy at Oklahoma City and passed, given a certificate of registration. He is now a full-fledged prescriptionist. B. B. WRIGHT returned from Olney, Texas where he attended the funeral of his brother-in-law, DEWITT MCCLATCHY, who died of heart trouble. Mr. McClatchy was 60 years old age and leaves a wife, two sons and one daughter, all grown. He visited Mr. Wright here several years ago and made numerous acquaintances in this section, all of whom learn of his death with regret. MISS ZELMA PITTMAN of Fort Worth is here for a few weeks' visit with her sister, MRS. E. M. RIDDLE and friends. MRS. E. H. BARNETT left Friday for a visit with her father, MR. JENKINS, and daughter MRS. K. E. KRUG at Caldwell, Texas. The editor's daughter, MARY FAY CROSSETT, left Monday for a visit with relatives at Soper and Hugo, Oklahoma and Mena, Arkansas. MISS GRACE EDWARDS, bookkeeper at First State Bank, is off on a vacation. She left Sunday for Alvord, Texas to visit the family of her uncle, JNO. DABNEY. Born to Mr. and Mrs. C. E. HUTCHINGS on the 13th, an 8 pound boy. Mrs. Hutchings is better known in Davis as MISS ANNIE ANTHONY. Mother and son doing well. The pastor, REV. C. W. YOUNG, announces that on account of the Baptist meeting, no preaching services will be held at the Methodist church next Sunday. W. B. NICHOLS, merchant and planter of Clarksdale, Mississippi, is spending a few days with his cousin, E. B. TURNER and other relatives. Mr. Nichols stopped off here on his return home from a trip to California. After a ten days' visit with homefolks, D. E. WISE left this morning fro a trip to Oklahoma City, Edmond, and Tulsa, after which he will return to his work as city mail carrier in Tulsa. Electric light bills can be paid to R. R. SHAFFER at Eureka Specialty Co. C. S. WRIGHT and wife returned home at Bartlesville after a visit with his brother, B. B. WRIGHT and a camping trip to Price's Falls. Mr. Wright is a city mail carrier at Bartlesville. I sell fresh, staple family groceries at close prices and give strict attention to business. S. H. KARNES near the Davis Grain Co. GEORGE HURT jr arrived Monday for Merryville, Louisiana for a visit with the family of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. DAVIS. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. M. HURT, were citizens of Davis when he was born. Pasture for milk cows for rent at the edge of town. GEORGE H. PIERCE C. H. KELLY, assistant cashier of the Drovers National Bank of Kansas City, came in Tuesday to spend his vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. P. KELLY and other relatives. His wife has been here about three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. LOVE H. MORTON stopped off in Davis for the weekend. They were enroute from a trip to Texas to their home at Bartlesville, where Mr. Morton is running a hardware store. He formerly resided in Davis. Trade off your old furniture for that right-up-to-now. HUTCHINS Bros. Dr. and Mrs. I. N. BROWN have as their guests this week, T. P. BOYD and two sons of Longview, Texas and MISS NETTIE MAE PENNINGTON of Ardmore. W. E. BOYD of Galveston visited them last week. The Boyds are Mrs. Brown's brothers. MRS. ELMER RIDGEWAY and three children of Blackwell came in Tuesday to visit her father, REV. J. M. DODSON and other relatives. REV. RIDGEWAY, who is pastor of the Baptist Church at Blackwell, was given a month's vacation. He is now visiting in Tennessee and expects to visit in Davis. After a short visit with relatives here, MRS. R. A. MCGRADY and daughters, MRS. E. L. TORRENCE and MRS. CAMILLE MCFARLAND, left Tuesday for their home at Waco, Texas, making the trip in their car. Their daughter and sister, MRS. R. O. RICHARDSON, accompanied them home for a visit. The party was accompanied as far as Dallas by ROBERT L.
